Also seems to be a good stand, but... Apr 03, 2009
By Saxmoore EDIT: One year later, additional comments added to end.
I've had this stand for two months now. It definitely feels solid and well constructed. The legs and bell support lock in such a way that they would never just collapse. It is very small when folded up, and feels lighter then my old Hamilton when you hold each in a hand. And yet, it feels way more sturdy stable then the Hamilton. I bought this after purchasing a Hercules Bari stand that I liked a lot (reviewed at [...])
I have one major concern about the stand, though. When you place the horn on the stand, the main support that holds the horn has about an inch of forward and backward play in it. That makes me really nervous. Especially when you have people on a gig that have no appreciation for the delicateness of a 40 year old saxophone.
I tried contacting the Hercules company through the contact form on their website to ask them if this was the intended design. I have received no response. None. Zero. Zilch. That's very poor customer service and makes me wonder if there is actually any presence in the U.S. other then sales. The contact form seems more interested in collecting your info then facilitating communication with the company.
I have since spoken with 2 other owners of the same stand and it looks like they all have this. What would be an otherwise perfect sax stand gets dropped to 4 stars for that instability, and dropped again to 3 stars for the lack of company response.
EDIT: July 10, 2010. Well, it's a year later and I am still using this stand. It has held up great and is still as good as new after being used on gigs 2-4 nights a week. I never heard back from their customer service, but there is still play in the the stand and I feel that my review is still accurate. But the stand is well built and I haven't had any tip-overs. It's really a shame that such a good stand has one glaring problem to it. It's rather enigmatic. I would probably buy another one if this one walked away after a gig ;-)
Perfect Stand Dec 14, 2011

We bought this for our daughter, who plays both Flute and Alto Sax. This product is outstanding.
The Build Quality is excellent and does what you need and want a stand to do, all while protecting your instrument investments.
Great Sep 23, 2011
By G. L. Simms It's a well-built, heavy duty stand that works well.
I was concerned about how the stand supported the sax, but it has never had a problem with slippage. I only use the stand at home and if the sax were hit by someone else, I could see it falling, but I think that is a problem with any stand.
The clarinet stand is also great if you need it. I wish I'd had that back in high school!
Over all I gave it 5/5 stars.
I'd buy it again and recommend it to a friend.
does the job just nicely Aug 17, 2011
By bondie Stand folds up well and impressed with the way it opens out and stays there securely. The bell stand is a little large for my alto and the sax can move a bit which concerned me that it would fall on to my flute (on the same stand) but stayed on and time & use will tell if my initial concerns come to light when transferring between instruments. Haven't tried it with my tenor yet but reckon it would fit that more securely.
Good stand, poor customer surpport Jul 15, 2011
By Victor Knight Jr. I ordered the Hercules Sax stand, it is strong and it does what it is suppose to do and that is hold your horn and Clarinet/Flute. My reason for the 3 star rating is simple, when my stand came, it did not have the Clarinet/Flute peg. I sent an e-mail to the company letting them know that I was missing the peg. A person named David that works for the company e-mailed me back telling me that I could send the stand back for a refund. I did not want a refund, I wanted the missing peg. David informed me that they did not have any more pegs in stock. I went back on Amazon and seen that the company had 10 pegs in stock. I ordered the missing peg and was very displeased with the fact that David lied to me. I got the peg that I had to pay for in a very quick time. As I stated, good stand, but very poor customer support. I would have returned the stand, but I needed to do a very important gig. I feel that the company owes me a Clarinet/Flute peg.
