amazon comes thru again Jul 11, 2009
By Caseyo This stand does just what its supposed to. I recently bought a Yani curved soprano to replace an old Conn (which laid flat on its left side on any flat surface)The Yani has all the bell keys on the left so a stand was needed-thus the K&M-this new rubber coating is nice and grippy. The horn feels safe and secure even tho due to the bell key guards it doesn't quite rest all the way down in the lower support. I wondered why not more holes for more postion choices? Theres a bunch below, like its originally for an alto, but only one near the top for soprano. Maybe I'll modify it, or if they read this, maybe they'll modify it. I'm definitely getting a K&M for my tenor after using this one a couple of weeks. Be aware of one thing tho-the upright tube slants forward and the horn sits at the tip top so it throws the weight forward(just the opposite of most stands)so position the tripod base with one of the legs pointing straight to the front.Could not find these at supposed music stores in Milwaukee or Madison. Thank you Amazon!
solid but HEAVY! Oct 13, 2011
By JimMetcalf Stand is well made-but large and heavy. Weighs more than the sax and case! This stand is suitable for alto-tenor but much to heavy/bulky for my little curvy soprano. I shortened a Saxy stand for alto (cut the vertical upright posts by 2" with a tubing cutter) that is much smaller and lighter and holds soprano securely.

K&M Curved Soprano Sax Stand Apr 18, 2011
By dlboyles Well, if what you are expecting is a diminuative version of he alto/tenor stand - forget it. All K&M have done is take the previous alto/tenor stand and add a hole at the top of the tube near the bell U. I am very disappointed in this stand and would suggest you buy something else (such as the Saxxy stand). Otherwise you end up with an enormous stand for a very small horn.
